Balance Software has been developing software for since 1984, with tertiary qualified staff who collectively have over 50 years of experience.

All developers have a hands on approach, not just individual programmers, systems testers or hardware technicians. Staff are encouraged to liaise with clients and become familiar with their requirements.

Quite often comparisons are made between small 'one man band' developers, and large development houses with considerable 'resources', with the inference that bigger is better.

In reality, generally there is no real difference. The risks associated with dealing with a single person are similar in large development organisations as these organisations tend to hire staff as and when needed with no continuity of individual customers requirements.

Balance is neither, just a small efficient group of developers with minimal staff turnover, so that customer continuity is assured. This is emphasised that many of our clients have been our clients for over 15 years.

Perhaps the most important design concept used is what we call event driven applications. Today's businesses don't want rigid, or batch oriented systems where the business activities are dictated by the system.

Systems should respond to change from one task to another without losing continuity of any individual task. That is, the system should be flexible and driven by the required task, not vice versa.
